Christian Classics Book Group
Our group meets Mondays at noon to discuss books on Christianity, religion, and spirituality. From April 2 through April 9, we will continue to read, “Muhammad: a Prophet for Our Time”, by Karen Armstrong. On April 16 we will be showing the film, “Le Grand Voyage”an award winning film about a man and his son as they embark on a pilgrimage from their home in France to Mecca. On April 30 we will begin reading “Gilead”, the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Marilynne Robinson. Copies of the book are available in the library and new members are always welcome! Bring a bag lunch; coffee and tea are served.

“Food for Thought Book Group”
There will be no book discussion meeting on April 5th in observance of Holy Thursday. Our book for May 3 will be “The Faith Club: A Muslin, A Christian, A Jew—Three Women Search for Understanding”, by Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver and Priscilla Warner. A memoir written after September 11 as three women of different faiths and beliefs came together to explore similarities and differences to help themselves and their children better relate to others. At 5:45 PM we will have a light meal and the discussion will start at 6:00 PM. Copies of the book are available in the library.

SAVE THE DATE: Sunday May 6 at 5:00 p.m.! The JPW Library and Beth Israel Synagogue are co-sponsoring a presentation by the three authors of “The Faith Club”. Please contact the library for more information and registration.

Soup & Psalms
This group meets from 6:00 to 7:00 PM every Tuesday from September to May. A basic meal of soup and bread is served and we pray psalms and briefly discuss them. We will go through the psalms sequentially

The John P. Webster Gallery at the First Church of Christ Congregational in West Hartford will be featuring a new exhibit of artwork by First Church Nursery School children from April 9 - 27.
